I am Todd Paladino, and I am an Art II instructor at Lockhart High School. I have been teaching art to students K-12 for 13 years. This is my second year teaching at LHS.
As a student in the public school system, I was very fortunate to have had art teachers throughout my grade school years. In middle school, I enjoyed music, athletics, drafting classes, and wood shop. In high school, I continued with art classes, wood shop, and learned about photography as a member of the yearbook staff. I was also a member of the National Honor Society.
I believe my career in art began in high school, as a result of many great teachers but one teacher, specifically. My art teacher, Mrs. Chelsey- who encouraged me to produce art for fun and for competition. She inspired me to go to college and study art, and helped me apply for grants to attend. After graduation, I attended Southwest Texas State University and began to study art. I later graduated with a B.F.A. in Visual Communications, with an emphasis in digital video, web design and desktop publishing.
While in San Marcos, I met my future wife, Shawn, who happened to be studying to become a teacher. We married and had 2 wonderful boys, Ty- 17, and and Sam-12. Shawn inspired me to become a teacher. We now enjoy spending our summers together boating and jet skiing near our home in Canyon Lake. We also enjoy driving and restoring vintage mustangs.
