Enter your text here..Welcome! I am Kim Whitbeck and I am from San Marcos, TX. I began teaching at Lockhart High School in the
fall of 1984. I currently teach English IV, but have taught all other levels during my career. For my first 7 seven years of teaching, I
was the Lionette Dance Team director.
During college at Southwest Texas University, I worked as an underwater aquamaid at Aquarena Springs, a popular tourist attraction
during the 1950's thru the 1990's. We performed synchronized ballet and performed an underwater picnic, too. It has been the most
unique job of my life! Having a pig as a co-star is definitely unique.
My husband, Bill is a professional musician who is the bassist for singer/songwriter Robert Earl Keen. Bill graduated from SWT with a
teaching degree (History & English.) We have 2 children. David is also a musician and Katy is a degreed vocal performance major.
She is a soprano and is now a music scholar and teaches voice lessons.
My favorite part of teaching is meeting new people. In 32 years, I have been fortunate to be closely involved with talented and
amazing young adults. I always love hearing about how their lives are going. So, after you graduate, please come see me
anytime. I will love to see you. ALL of you!
