I am Master Sergeant Maurice Kennerly, the Aerospace Science Instructor for the AFJROTC program. I retired from the Air Force on 31 July, 2011 after 23 years of service. For the majority of my Air Force career, I worked in the medical field as a medical technician and as an orthopedic surgery technician. I also served an Additional Duty First Sergeant and Flight Chief of the Surgical Service Flight. I received Associate degrees from the Community College of the Air Force in Surgical Service Technology and Human Resources. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Adult Education and Development from Southern Illinois University Carbondale.
The objectives of the AFJROTC program are to educate and train high school cadets in citizenship, promote community service, instill responsibility, character, and self discipline, and provide instruction in air and space fundamentals. The program is composed of curricular and co-curricular activities, and extracurricular activities. The AFJROTC curriculum includes aerospace science and leadership instruction and training.
