Saturday School

Saturday School begins on March 25, 2017 for grades 10-12. Students will meet in the Library. This is open to any student who needs makeup hours, EOC STAAR retesters, and Credit Recovery students. If students need to make up hours, they will receive 1.5 hours. If students are retesting in Algebra, Biology, or US History or are taking US History for the first time, they can come meet with a teacher for tutoring. We will serve breakfast tacos and hand out bonus points for class grades.

LHS DECA Members Advance to International Competition

Lockhart High School DECA members competed in February at the 71st Annual DECA State Career Development Conference (CDC) held in San Antonio, Texas. Lockhart had six DECA members that competed at the State level in various Marketing events. Three members placed at State level and qualified to compete at the international competition in Anaheim, California in April. Congratulations DECA!

LHS TAFE Members Advance to National Competition

Lockhart High School TAFE members competed in February at the TAFE State Competition held at University of Texas in Arlington, Texas. Lockhart had five TAFE members that competed at the State level against 1,934 registered participants in various events. Four of our TAFE members placed at State, and two qualified to advance and compete at the national level in Phoenix Arizona, in June of 2017! Congratulations to all members who competed!

Speech/Debate and Academic Teams Compete at Hays

Lockhart High School Speech/Debate and Academic teams competed at the Hays Academic Meet on Saturday. There were a total of 21 students who represented LHS with 11 students participating in speech/debate and 10 in academic events. Jacob placed 3rd out of 39 debaters. LHS also had two other debaters who finished in the top eight, Madison and Elijah. In academics, Julia placed 6th in calculator applications and Alexis was 4th in Spelling/Vocabulary.
